Having trouble finding your modules

When you first log into Canvas you may see a message like the one in the image below which says you are enrolled in one or more modules that have not started yet. What this means is that they have not yet been made available by your lecturer - they are unpublished.

You can see a list of your modules by clicking "Modules" in the main menu on the left and then clicking "All Modules" from the panel that slides out. If your module is on the list then you can check to see if it is available by looking under the column "Published". You will only be able to access the module when your lecturer has published it (indicated by the word Yes in the published column).

Cannot find your module on Canvas

You can see a list of your modules by clicking "Modules" in the main menu on the left and then clicking "All Modules" from the panel that slides out. If your module is not on the list you should check your enrolment record on Web for Student to see that you are enrolled on the correct CRN for the module.

To do this:
  • Log into the myban Student Record System via the link at https://www.mycit.ie/itsupport.myban using your MTU userID and password.
  • When you have logged in, check your registration record and scroll down to see a list of all the modules for which you are enrolled.
  • If you have access to Canvas, you can learn more about using myban using the MyBan Student Training Module in Canvas

If a CRN is not on your account please contact admissions by emailing AdmissionsCork@mtu.ie.

If a CRN is on your account but not appearing on Canvas please confirm with your lecturer that this module is being delivered and if the module in Canvas has been published. If your lecturer confirms that it is correct and that is is being delivered via Canvas please direct your call to servicedesk@cit.ie.

Enrolment updates are reflected in Canvas within 24 hours, you should then be able access Canvas at cit.instructure.com.
