By this stage, you should have
- Setup your Examity
ID
- Have gone through the
security measures for the
exam
- You should also be ready to upload photos of your
written work through the Canvas
Student App on your
smartphone
For the exam:
1. Once you
have connected to a proctor,
you will be asked to share
your screen and the
authentication process will
begin. Examity
proctor support will walk you through the
authentication process. You will be asked
to:
- Verify your identity. Make sure you
have your photo ID with you. You will
be required to hold the ID in front of
your webcam. The proctor will need to
see both your name and photo
clearly.
- Review and agree the exam rules.
- Show your desk and workspace. The
proctor will ask you to complete a
360° room pan and desk sweep with your
webcam. This is to ensure your
workspace is clear of any materials
you are not allowed to use
2. You will now be asked to review
and agree to the Examity User Agreement as
well as the exam rules and any special
instructions set by your instructor.
3. You will now be
prompted to answer a previously selected
security question. Once you have entered
your answer, please press the “Submit”
button.
4. You will now be asked
to enter your biometric keystroke
signature. Once you have entered your
signature, select the “Submit”
button.
5. When
the exam has
started, you will be asked
to connect either via zoom
or gotomeeting. The
proctor will simply
observe you taking the
test. They will not
interrupt you unless they
think they notice very
clear cheating
behavior
- It is very
important that you keep
your webcam and screen
shared on for the duration
of the
exam
6. When you
press the “Begin Exam” button,
you will be directed to the
exam assignment in Canvas.
From here, you can see the
instructions for your exam.
You can begin writing your
exam answers on the pen and
paper you have
prepared.
- If you are not
redirected to the exam
automatically, go back
into Canvas and access the
exam under "Assignments"
or under
"Step
3: Exam and Submission" in the home page
or units
area
6. When you
are completed
(and before the end of the
exam time), you can upload the
results of your writing via
the Canvas app. To do
this:
- Speak clearly into
the webcam to announce
that you are finished and
will be uploading your
results.
- Using
the canvas student
app on your smartphone,
take photographs of all of
your handwritten answers. There
are full instructions
on how to do this
here
7. After you
have uploaded your
results, you must end the
live proctoring process.
To do this, simply
inform your proctor that you are finished
the exam
- Be sure to double check that you have
uploaded photographs of your work to
Canvas correctly before you end the
proctoring.
